Persons interested in supporting Anna and her pledge to raise money for Autism Speaks can pledge a fixed amount of money 'Per Win' or simply pledge a 'Flat' dollar amount. In Anna's most reent competition she finished with an impressive 11 wins! Lets get behind her and make THESE wins count for something worth while

What can Jiu jitsu
do for your child?
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is one of the most beneficial Martial Arts for children to practice. The physical contact and grappling in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves pushing and pulling which can help in the early stages of muscle development. This can force an otherwise frail or underdeveloped muscular frame to build faster and in a more well rounded way. Helio Gracie (one of the founders of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu) is a perfect example of a young boy with sickly conditions who was forced to stay away from physical activities and sports. Until he discovered Jiu-Jitsu which completely turned his life around and gave him the strength tnecessary to withstand some of his early childhood ailments.
Discipline, respect, humility and confidence are also important things derived from Jiu- jitsu practice. These core attributes are explored daily for the student and can become vital life skills later on as the child grow up. Learning how to cope with victory and even defeat is a constant reality in the sport. Children quickly learn that a humble 'open' mindset is a valuable tool needed to succeed in the sport. Through repetition, technique is sharpened and your child will gain confidence that can lead to a more well rounded individual.
