Neale Hoerle became interested in BJJ after watching Royce Gracie in the Inaugural UFC event.  Since then he has sought out the best Jiu-Jitsu instruction available in the United States. Neale first trained with Rickson Gracie in Charlotte, NC and later with Ralph Gracie in Richmond, Va.  Neale also spent his weekends and summers training with Mario Yamasaki in Rockville, MD, quickly becoming a member of Master Yamasaki's Competition Team.  

 Neale later allied with Lloyd Irvin in Washington, DC and joined Master Irvin's Ranks as a Soldier of Submission.  He was awarded his Blue belt in 1998 under Master Irvin's instruction.

Since then Neale has continued to hone his skills by directly training with some of the most respected fighters and instructors in the world, including Roberto "Maguilla" Marquis,  Gustavo Machado,  Leo Dalla,  Rodrigo Juniqueira and  Eddie Bravo  In 2009 Neale simultaneously belted in 10TH Planet Jiu-Jitsu and traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  Earning his purple belt under Black belt Rodrigo Junqueira and  also 10TH Planet Jiu-Jitsu's Eddie Bravo he is the areas only 'Dual Sport' ranked and authorized instructor/athlete.

In July 2011 Neale Hoerle and the Anu Academy of Martial Arts proudly affiliated with Master Rodrigo Junqueira to become the newest affiliate of Team Junqueira Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Team RJBJJ).  Neale continues to persue rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by continually training and competing in the tradition Gi uniform as well as training No-Gi exclusively under  Master Junqueira.    Anu Academy looks forward to this rekindled relationship and anticipates many good things in the very near future.
